Meet Ada Wai Shan Ng

Cone Marshall Hong Kong

Ada Ng is the Managing Director and Head of Greater China. She is responsible for business development and client relationships across Asia. Ada has over 20 years of experience in management positions, including 15 years in the banking, finance, and insurance industries As an experienced banking and management professional, Ada adds value to Cone Marshall with her ability to develop strategic partnerships and marketing plans. Ada enjoys working with clients and their advisors to find solutions to their wealth planning needs.

Prior to Cone Marshall, she was the Chief Executive and Responsible Officer of Citi Insurance Brokers of Citibank (HK), Head of Cross Border Banking Services in Hang Seng Bank (HK), and Head of Cross Border Business Development in China Citi Bank International.

Ada received her BSS from The University of Hong Kong, she holds a Diploma in Trust & Estate Planning from The Society of Business Practitioners in England and a Certificate of Occupational Competence in Estate Planning and Trust Management from the People’s Republic of China. Ada is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

What inspired you and your career trajectory to pursue a career in fiduciary services?

I am deeply committed to assisting clients in managing their assets responsibly, ensuring their financial goals are met, and providing peace of mind.  Such assets extend beyond financial holdings, and include their values, achievements, wisdom, life experiences, and the impact their on next generations. For our clients, it is extremely important to plan for their legacy, and succession of wealth.

How has your career and working across different countries and cultures shaped your leadership approach and style?

I am grateful for the opportunity to meet and serve clients from different countries and cultures for the past two decades. I believe in taking a personal approach where we take care of our clients and build lasting relationships. In particular, I strive to be an active listener, and provide individualized solutions to clients, and strategic insights to business development matters. The successful entrepreneurs I have worked with throughout my career inspire me to lead with a clear vision and lead by example. All great teams are built on trust and empowerment.

What exciting projects are on the horizon for Cone Marshall HK?

At Cone Marshall Hong Kong, we are actively expanding our business ecosystem. We support family offices, financial advisors, and professional firms in legacy planning for their clients. We work closely with these firms to set up and administer trusts, and draft family and business governance documents. We have been working toward this on a local, regional, and global level.

What are you looking forward to with our STEP China collaboration? 

We are so proud to be the first and only Strategic Partner of STEP China. We work together with STEP China to promote STEP and engage professionals and wealth planners by organizing monthly seminars. It is a great pleasure to work closely with STEP to coordinate networking and learning opportunities for professionals in our industry. We are excited to be at the forefront of the wealth planning industry’s rapid growth in China.

What do you see as the biggest global trends impacting our industry? OR What do you wish more people knew about our industry? 

Preserving wealth is the biggest desire of the clients. Everyone has the wish to protect their families. Legacy planning is thus in huge demand and diversification is also the goal. We are so lucky that we are witnessing these great projects in human history. We are also so proud to play an important role in helping our clients to achieve these goals, generations through generations.
